Though malaria was eradicated half a century ago in the United States, the disease continues to wreak havoc in other parts of the world, and children in Africa have been especially hard-hit. The disease affects over 250 million Africans and kills over 1,000 children each day. Many of these children are under five years of age.
At Mosquito Squad, our dedication to mosquito control extends beyond US borders and we have joined forces with Malaria No More, a global health nonprofit committed to stopping malaria deaths in Africa. Though many Kansans may detest mosquitos, for us, freedom from mosquito bites is a matter of mere convenience. For many Africans, it is of grave significance: being bitten by a malaria-bearing mosquito can be a matter of life and death for both parents and, especially, their young children.
Our partnership with Malaria No More began in 2012, and we donate a portion of our sales to support their ongoing efforts to distribute life-saving information in Cameroon. This important organization fosters educational initiatives to raise community awareness around the importance of bed net use and ensures that nets are distributed efficiently and used properly.
We hope you will join us in this important fight against malaria. You can donate at Malarianomore.org. All donations go toward community education and protective measures against malaria in Cameroon.
